Local Player of the Year


POY Format
  • The number of tournaments that count towards the local Player of the Year (POY) will vary depending on the policies set by each local chapter. Different chapters may have different requirements based on regional factors. For example, northern states with shorter seasons may have fewer qualifying tournaments, while Myrtle Beach, being in a more moderate climate, may host many more tournaments annually.
Rules
  • Only members receive points
  • Points are based on how you finish in your divisional field per tournament
  • You must finish the tournament to receive any points.
  • Tournaments played outside your local chapter will ONLY count toward your local chapter's POY race not the chapter's tournament you just played.
  • Each division will crown a POY
  • Per the USGA the winner can not receive more than a $1,000 in prizes.  Trophies and symbolic prizes do not count towards the $1,000 limit - amateur status rule 3

National Player of the Year


POY Format
  • Best (8) 1-day local tournaments
  • Best (2) 2-day local tournaments
  • Best (1) Local elevated tournament
  • Local championship tournament
  • Best (2) national majors
  • National Championship tournament
